A few days ago an article was published on CNN’s website entitled Why Millennials are Leaving the Church. It describes how the young generation is actually being driven away from “church-as-performance,” meaning the youth aren’t attracted to the politically driven clergy, and other immoral draws to increase church attendance, particularly in the evangelical churches.
I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in my late youth. As an 18-year-old I was very much immature, and had a lot to learn. I still do. But in the past 6 years I have learned more than I could have ever imagined at age 18 when I was. My relationship with God is stronger. The love I posses for my Savior is deeper. My purpose and plan is clearer. I’m not perfect, but I’m trying.

Within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I found truth. I found Jesus Christ. I found structure. I found authority. I found true love. I found myself. I found joy. Most of all, I found God, my Father. I’m home.
That’s why I’m staying. I can’t imagine how my life would be without the Church. I know one things for sure, I wouldn’t be any where close to the person I am today. Christ lives. God lives. They are real beings. They care for us. We can know them.
