It was Mom

As I sit and think of all that my Mom has done for me, I feel overwhelmed. Overwhelmed with gratitude, emotion, and most of all, love. There are not enough flowers, cards, or words to equal the amount of thanks my mother deserves.

I believe in families, and in strong family relationships. I will always cherish the relationship I have with my mom. She is always there for me, anytime I need someone to talk to. She’s a great listener. Her influence in my life is why I am the way I am today. The “It Was Mom” initiative started by the Church has opened my eyes wider to all that I have to thank my Mom for. Here is my list…

It was Mom…

Who gave me life.

Who changed my diapers.

Scan 2

Who cheered me on.

Who showed me love.

Who listened to me.

Who taught me to follow my dreams.

Who showed me the happiest place on earth.

Scan 8

Who supported me no matter what.

Who taught me charity.

Who taught me to love basketball.

Who taught me 9×4.

Who taught me manners.

Scan 11

Who taught me how to be a grown-up.

Who taught me to save money.

Who taught me to give.

Who sang to me.

Who prayed for me.

Who loved me unconditionally.

This is a very special Mother’s Day for me. Of course, I celebrate my Mother. However, I have a new Mother (in-law), and my wife will be a mother in October! I am surrounded by wonderful women who influence my life with pure goodness. They show me how to be compassionate, how to love unconditionally, and how to serve.

So here’s to you, my Moms. May you have a happy Mother’s Day, and always remember, I love you.
