I Do Not Fear God

It is common to hear someone say that they are a God-fearing individual, usually referring to their belief in God. However, if you were to ask me if I was a God-fearing man, I would answer that I am not.

I do not fear God. I trust Him.

Father & Son

God is my Father, my literal Dad. He knows everything about me, and loves me unconditionally. He has a perfect plan for me, and he helps me follow it, while still giving me freedom to make my own decisions. Knowing that I am not nearly perfect, He provided the sacrifice of His Only Begotten Son. Such a sacrifice allows me to repent daily, and continue working on becoming more like Him. He provides examples for me through living prophets and apostles, scriptures, teachers, friends, and family. He blesses me when I obey His commandments, and uses me to help and serve others. He brings pure joy into my life.

Should I be scared of someone like that? Not in the least bit. I wish there was more I could offer Him in return for such generosity. All I can do is continue seeking opportunities to serve Him and thank Him for being apart of my life. There is never any need to fear someone who loves you. Love is power beyond our comprehension.

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear…” -1 John 4:18

  1. “The fear of God is the beginning of Knowledge”…….Abraham going to stab his son: “Stop now that I know you Fear your God.” Think about your words.

    1. Please don’t misunderstand. Sure, sacrificing your son is a scary thing (to put it simply), but Abraham had the faith and trust that God would take care of the situation. In the result it was trust in God that carried Abraham to the top of the mountain.
