Love one another

The commandment to love others as He does is a challenge that is unique.

Love is the very essence of the gospel, and Jesus Christ is our exemplar.

We are to live in the world, but not be apart of the world.

The Savior has warned against contention.

We should not stir up contention with others.

We should follow after the things that make peace.

We must not compromise or dilute our commitment to the truths we understand.

There is no middle ground in the battle between truth and error.

A follower of Christ, just like the Master, will be firm in the truth.

We should teach the truth plainly and thoroughly as we understand them.

The free exercise of religion covers most public actions.

We should all follow the gospel teachings to love our neighbor and avoid contention.

Though we may disagree, we should not be disagreeable.

We encourage all to practice the Savior’s golden rule.

In any event, we should be persons of goodwill toward all.

Teach our children to respect people of other faiths.

Policy differences need not involve personal attacks that poison the process of governments and punish civilians.

Differences are inevitable.

We can show loving kindness and still be firm in the truth…

Kindness is powerful, especially in a family setting.

We must learn to live with difference.

As followers of Christ we should live peacefully with others who do not share our values.

We must press forward having a love of God, and of all men…

Opposition against the things of God sends seekers of truth to their knees for answers.

Spiritual questions deserve spiritual answers from God.

Studying the Church through the eyes of it’s defectors is like interviewing Judas to understand Jesus.

We always welcome honest and genuine questions.

Joseph [Smith] was a good, honorable, and virtuous man.

Internet information does not have a “truth” filter.

You may question what is on the news, but you need never doubt the testimony of God’s prophets.

We do not discard something we know to be true because of something we do not yet understand.

Millions of Latter-day Saints are seeking to live righteous lives.

By their fruits ye shall know them.

Each believer needs a spiritual confirmation of the divine mission and character of the Prophet Joseph Smith.

You will not be a help to others if your own faith is not securely in place.

Now is the time to adjust your own spiritual oxygen mask so you are prepared to help others who are seeking the truth.

With faith and real intent, your testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith will strengthen.

Read Joseph Smith’s testimony often.

There are great and wonderful days ahead.

No force in the entire world can stop the work of God.

In our society on the other side of the veil of death, we will understand the calling of Joseph Smith.

Magnify your calling as a parent.

As parents we are to be the prime gospel teachers and examples for our children.

The home is the ideal forum of teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

You can always have the gospel in your home.

I can never express enough gratitude for my parents.

Teach children the power of prayer.

Pray that God will help you find a good wife (or husband).

Don’t forget morning prayers.

How many of us let our children leave the house without the spiritual breastplate and sword that come from prayer.

Pray always that you may conquer Satan.

Teach children to use their time wisely.

One day our children will understand and appreciate what we have done.

The titles of husband, wife, father, and mother will continue to be revered worlds without end.

As parents we can proceed with the assurance that God will never leave us alone.

God never gives us responsibility without offering divine aid.

Can you say that Heavenly Father is pleased with you?

The adversary knows that faith in Christ goes hand in hand with the confidence that you are striving to choose the right.

Take responsibility for your own spiritual well-being.

Strive to be perfect within your own sphere of circumstances.

Take responsibility for your own physical well-being.

You body needs and deserves exercise.

Embrace voluntary whole-hearted obedience as part of your life.

You cannot acknowledge that you love God without keeping His commandments.

When I do good I feel good. When I do bad I feel bad.

Casualness in spiritual matters never was happiness.

Become really really good at repenting thoroughly and quickly.

Don’t expect the world to cheer you on towards repentance.

Become really really good at forgiving.

Don’t ever think that you are exempt from the commandment to forgive.

Accept trials, setbacks, and surprises as part of your mortal experience.

Trials are not a sign that Heavenly Father does not love you.

Spiritual confidence increases when you understand that trials come from living right.

Acknowledge and face your weaknesses, but do not be immobilized by them.

Yours is the privilege to know that you are pleasing God inspire of your short comings.

Never ever again follow the wrong voice.

“My sheep hear my voice, and they follow me.”

The invitation to follow the Savior is an invitation to act.

Yes, Lord. I will follow Thee.

We renew our commitment each week with the Sacrament.

As you strive to follow Him, you will gain the power to relieve life’s burdens.

The decision to come unto and follow Christ is personal.

Learn to walk with Him.

Reach out your hand, touch His garment, and accept His invitation.

I have no more disposition to do evil, but to do good continually.

Feed the desire to be a better follower of Christ.

Make the decision today to act and say, “Yes, Lord. I will follow Thee.”

Jeffrey R. Holland

Jesus’ first and foremost messianic duty would be to bless the poor.

The Creator of heaven and earth was homeless in His adult life.

The great Redeemer has made a call to help us lift the burden of poverty from others.

Look to the poor and needy and minister to their relief that they shall not suffer.

Language God uses when he means business.

Our work should be about love and not statistics.

What we do is nothing but a drop in the ocean. But if we didn’t do it, the ocean would be one drop less than it is.

We can cease withholding our means.

Are we not all beggars?

We obtain a remission of our sins by pleading to God, but we retain the remission to responding to the poor.

Pray for those in need.

Rich or poor, we are to do what we can when others are in need.

We are always expected to help ourselves before we seek help from others.

God will help you and guide you in compassionate discipleship.

All who are physically able are to observe the law of the fast.

Miracles come, spiritual and temporal, to those who live the law of the fast.

Cherish the sacred privilege to fast at least monthly.

God will be generous to you.

I’ve had to worry about finances on occasion, but I have never been poor.

Although I may not be my brother’s keeper, I am my brother’s brother.

Because I have been given much, I too must give.

More than any man I know, President Monson has done all he could for the widow and the fatherless, the poor and the oppressed.

Do what we can to deliver whoever we can from the poverty that holds them captive.

The Savior is the master teacher. We follow Him.

Jesus is the great exemplar. The only way to find lasting peace is to look to Him and live.

Wheats and tares.

The wheat and tares have grown so close together.

How blessed are we as members of the Lord’s church to have the precious gospel as a foundation.

The Holy Ghost will show you all things whatsoever ye should do.

The disintegration of the family will bring only sorrow.

We have the responsibility to protect the family as the basic unit of society.

The greatest teaching of all must be done by righteous example.

Our homes must be holy places to stand up against the pressures of the world.

The greatest blessings of the Lord come to righteous families.

The most powerful teaching a child will ever receive will come through righteous fathers and mothers.

The decisions made by women in this generation will be eternal in their consequence.

Mothers do all they can to strengthen the home.

Fathers are personally involved in leading the family.

Fathers set examples of faithful gospel service.

Your sacred calling as a father in Israel is your most sacred calling for time and all eternity.

You are never released from your calling as a father.

A successful parent should never be too busy to capture a moment in a child’s life when an important lesson can be taught.

We must instill in future generations an ever stronger reliance on the teachings of our Lord and Savior.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is a foundation whereupon if men build, they cannot fall.
