How I Do General Conference

It’s that time of year again, and I couldn’t be more excited. General Conference is my favorite part of Church. True prophets of God speak to the world, declaring the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

For the last few conferences, I have been actively live-tweeting my notes, and publishing them on my website. It is great fun to see members of the Church across the world doing the same, sharing the gospel as it is taught live.

I don’t do it for recognition, I don’t do it for a greater social media following. I do it because I believe sharing the gospel online is a great effort, and I’ve invested myself deeply in its cause.

Beginning tonight with the Women’s Session, you’ll find me in front of the TV at home with my son, (my wife will be in attendance) and my laptop. As I watch conference, I take notes, then copy and paste to Twitter using the hashtag #LDSConf. Once conference is over, I take my notes and publish them on my website with the hope that others will find my notes to be helpful.

Conference weekend is a special time. I hope that anyone who hasn’t seen it before will take some time and watch a little and feel the spirit of the meeting. The meetings are broadcast online at lds.org and on public television.
