Conducting – Dieter F. Uchtdorf
Opening Hymn – Glory to God on High
Opening Prayer – Timothy J. Dyches
Henry B. Eyring – First Counselor, First Presidency
Heavenly Father wishes to bless His children spiritually and temporally.
In as much as ye have done it unto the least of these…ye have done it unto me.
The law of the fast. A commandment and blessing.
A simple commandment with a marvelous promise. (fasting)
Members of the Church fast for those in need across the world.
What the Lord can do through His servants is only possible if His people are faithful.
Your fast offering will be used to help someone somewhere.
Fasting can change hearts.
Greater capacity to resist temptation comes from fasting.
Claim the great blessings of fasting for ourselves and our families.
Boyd K. Packer – Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
Two ingredients to a successful marriage – a cookie and a kiss.
Marriage is a great adventure of life.
The end of all activity in the Church is that a man and a woman are happy at home, sealed together for eternity.
The commandment to multiply and replenish the earth has never been rescinded.
The family is the key to happiness.
Married couples are tried by temptations, misunderstandings, financial problems, and illness.
Love will last eternally when covenants are made and kept.
Love is nourish by the coming of children.
We can’t escape the consequences when we transgress. Only through the saving power of Christ.
When damage is done, often a scar remains as a reminder of injury.
When we repent our sins are forgiven and the Lord remembers them no more.
God’s judgements are beyond any earthly comparison.
Families can be together through eternity.
The Atonement can wash clean every stain no matter how difficult or however many times repeated.
The Atonement is individual.
Linda K. Burton – Relief Society General President
Our companions are a precious gift.
Life without our spouse would not be life at all.
The husband is most attractive to his wife when he is serving in the home.
All I ever hope to be in this life is like my father.
Father and Mother is the most important calling in time and eternity.
Many degrading and demeaning messages about the role of the father.
We need each other to lift and help each other become the people the Lord would have us become.
Working together, we are stronger.
Male and female spirits naturally complete each other.
Complete, not compete.
How often do we intentionally speak kind words to each other?
When was the last time I sincerely praised my companion, whether alone of in the presence of our children?
When was the last time I chose to be happy rather than demanding to be right.
Guilt is to our spirit what pain is to our body.
Thee lift me, and I lift thee, and we’ll ascend together.
Through our faith in Christ, we can do it!
Dallin H. Oaks – Quorum of the Twelve Apostle
Subjects for Conference talks assigned by impressions of the Spirit.
Not being rooted in the word can lead to separation from the Church.
The necessity of firm and lasting conversion to the Church.
Spiritual food is necessary for spiritual survival.
We must increase our exposure to spiritual truth.
Texting, video games, etc. during Sacrament lead towards stony ground.
We must be moderate and measured in criticism and seek always for the broader view of the majestic work of God.
Not an evil in the possession of riches, but an evil in one’s attitude towards them.
The root of all evil is not money, but the love of money.
Whoever has an abundance of material things in is jeopardy of being spiritually sedated by riches and other things of the world.
Entitlement impairs our ability to qualify for our personal destiny.
The dangers of surrendering to the cares of the world.
Our commitment is supposed to be a test.
Really living what we claim to believe needs to be a priority in every aspect of our lives.
Don’t be digested by society.
We have the seed of the gospel word. Make our soil good and our harvest plentiful.
Seek a mighty change of heart.
Christ’s teachings point the way and His Atonement makes it all possible.
L. Whitney Clayton – Seventy
All of us will have to traverse a spiritual wilderness.
If we search for it, there will always be a spiritual light that beckons to us.
We must initially desire to believe.
Faith requires our personal choice and action.
Every day we can choose to believe in Christ, or to travel alone in the dark.
If we choose to believe than the Savior’s teachings and example will show us the pathway forward.
Choose to believe.
God does not force us to believe. He invites us to believe.
The decision to believe is the most important choice we ever make. It shapes all of our other decisions.
Belief is something we choose. We hope, work, and sacrifice for it.
Put belief into action.
We will find spiritual light by choosing to believe rather than to doubt.
Never give up. Ever.
When the light of your faith is dimmed, let your hope for Christ overcome your doubt.
Choosing Christ is the best choice you could possibly make.
Believing in Him and His redemptive power is the way to peace in the world.
L. Tom Perry – Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
People are giving up on marriage as a matter of public commitment.
The sanctity of marriage and the family as the basic unit of society.
We are all the same.
The importance of marriage between a man and a woman.
Only we have the eternal perspective of the restored gospel.
We make marriage a matter of eternity.
Families can be together forever.
We believe that we were and still are members of God’s family.
Traditional families are the basic unit of society, economy and eternity.
A commitment to marriage and a family lifestyle is the happiest way to live.
Minority oftentimes masquerades as the majority.
It has never been harder to raise responsible children and keep marriages and families together.
The solid majority of mankind still believes that marriage should be between one man and one woman.
Marriage and family are still the ideal of most people.
The Church wants to support and strengthen the family.
We must project our voice and declare why marriage and family are so important.
The Church has the greatest opportunity to be a light on a hill.
The family is the key to life and the center to the eternal happiness.
Closing Hymn – I Believe in Christ
