Chasing Happiness

It’s been a couple of weeks now, and hopefully you’ve been exposed to a certain YouTube video of a woman who purchased a Chewbacca mask, not knowing that it made the Chewbacca growl when she opened her mouth while wearing it, consequently finding herself in pure, contagious laughter.

This video has been viewed 5.7 million times on YouTube alone, not accounting for any other social media views. She’s since been on various talk shows and her life is changed.

So what’s the big deal?

How does something so silly draw so much attention?

I believe everyone desires, and deserves, to be happy. Happiness makes life better, more bearable, more enjoyable. We are all constantly chasing this feeling. So…where is happiness?

Ultimately, we need to be responsible for our own happiness. It’s too easy to create negativity. Negative thoughts always seem to come easier than positive ones, but if we really try, we can see the good in the world, and happiness comes much easier.

I find the most happiness at home – with my wife, and my son. There is nothing sweeter than walking in the door at the end of the day and hearing my son say, “Daddy’s home!!!”

Create happiness. Do it today. You’ll be glad you did.
