Henry B. Eyring – Sustaining Votes
*Some opposed in the conference center. How I miss the days when the vote was unanimous.
*I hoped those who opposed the sustaining stuck around and heard an uplifting message that touched their hearts.

Eternal life is the greatest gift of God and is bestowed upon those who keep His commandments.
*Who knew a power pole could be so beautiful?
A stumbling block can be anything that distracts us from achieving righteous goals.
Our testimonies of God and Jesus need to remain pure and simple.
The preferred strategy of the adversary is to lead people away by the philosophies of man.
Your faith should not stand in the wisdom of man, but in the power of God. -Paul
*1 Corinthians 15
There is a test coming. -Heber C. Kimball
A few will give up, a few will be deceived, …and others will be offended. – Neal A. Maxwell
Alma 42 contains some of the most magnificent doctrine on the atonement in all of scripture.
Sooner or later everybody has to sit down to a  banquet of consequences.
Looking beyond the mark is a stumbling block.
Gospel extremism (elevating one gospel principle above others) is looking beyond the mark.
We must be steadfast in Christ, feast upon his word, and endure to the end.
Let us determine to always be in His service.
Jesus Christ is the only name under heaven by which we may be saved.

One is never to young to seek and receive a personal testimony of the Book of Mormon.
The Book of Mormon can become the keystone of your testimony.
More than 174 million copies in over 110 languages.
Can you see the Book of Mormon as your keystone? As your spiritual center of strength?
Do you realize the Book of Mormon was written for you and for your day?
*Challenge – Replace some of your daily screen time with reading the Book of Mormon.
10 minutes a day enjoyed on your device or in book form.
Reading the Book of Mormon should not be seen as taking bad tasting medicine only to be checked off of a to do list.
Some form of the Savior’s name is used on average once every 1.7 verses.
Intermediate Hymn – Called To Serve

God’s love is simply always there. – Thomas S. Monson
God’s love is never described in scripture as “unconditional.”
What God’s love for each of us means is based on how we respond to God’s love.
To receive His grace and love we must keep his commandments.
God will always love us, but He cannot save us in our sins.
Repentance is His gift to us, purchased at a very dear price.
Matthew 5:44
God’s greater blessings are conditioned upon obedience.
Sinners cannot bend His will to theirs and require him to bless them in sin.
To abide in God’s love means to fully submit to His will.
*Story of Helen Keller
Each of us can love and serve God and be empowered to bless our fellow man.
What a precious gift is divine love.
Will you not love Him who first love you, and keep His commandments?
Keep his commandments.
*This is a talk worth many hours of study

Our development and learning can be slowed as we attempt to seek after things not meant to be understood at this time.
We cannot force the mysteries of God to be unfolded unto us.
Seek not to counsel the Lord but to take counsel from His hand.
We live in a time where we expect information to be given to us immediately.
The Lord’s pattern for learning is timeless.
Proverbs 3:5
We were never expected to have a perfect knowledge of things in this mortal existence.
Why not allow our Creator to guide our own spiritual development and learning?

Be ambitious for Christ.
Serve willingly without murmuring or complaining.
We are ambitious for Christ when we serve faithfully, accept humbly, endure nobly, pray fervently, and partake worthily.

All Christians are under the commandment to share the gospel with everyone.
Sharing the gospel is a joyful privilege.
Are we using all our resources to share to gospel to maximum effect?
Member participation in missionary work is vital towards conversion and retention.
Sharing the restored gospel is our lifelong Christian duty and privilege.
Three things all members should do
1 – Pray for desire to help with missionary work
2 – Keep the commandments ourselves
Faithful members are the most persuasive witnesses of the restored gospel.
3 – We can pray for inspiration on what we can do in our individual circumstances to share the gospel with others.
I urge every member and every family in the Church to pray to find those ready to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Pray personally and in your family for missionary opportunities.
Success in sharing the gospel is inviting people with love and genuine intent to help them no matter what their response.
People learn when they are ready to learn, not when we are ready to teach them.
Others typically want the results of the doctrine, not the doctrine.
An invitation to learn more about Jesus Christ and his gospel is preferable to learn more about our church.
We want people to be converted to the gospel.
Introduce people to the gospel in ways that are authentic in love and concern.
Our efforts to share the gospel should not be limited to our friends and work associates.
There are many opportunities to share the gospel.
We all know many whose lives would be improved by the restored gospel. Are we reaching out to them?
Closing Hymn – Hope of Israel
Closing Prayer – Allen D. Haynie
