Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints accept the Book of Mormon, along with the Bible, as holy scripture, the word of God. It is comparable to the Bible, adding an additional witness and testimony of the reality of the life and ministry of the Savior, Jesus Christ. The record was written by a group of people originating in Jerusalem, who traveled to the ancient-American continent.
I was introduced to The Book of Mormon when I was sixteen years old. I began studying it and the Bible at the same time. It is a true book. It teaches of Jesus. The same Jesus that was born of Mary. The same Jesus that turned water to wine. The same Jesus that suffered for our sins, and hung on a cross between two thieves. The same Jesus that was resurrected. The same Jesus that still lives today.
